David McDonald

David McDonald is a co-founder of Euclid Financial. Prior to forming Euclid Financial, Dave was an underwriting manager at Catlin, Inc. in Boston, MA for seven years, where he helped develop and manage a Professional Lines book of business including Directors & Officers Liability, Errors & Omissions, Employment Practices Liability and Fiduciary Liability for financial institutions and commercial risks.

Prior to joining Catlin, Dave worked in London, UK for XL Capital, where he held a senior underwriting position within the Professional Lines Division, focusing on management liability lines for international risks placed through brokers in the UK, Europe and Asia. Dave spent three years in London with XL.

Before his tenure in London, Dave was an Assistant Vice President for Chubb & Son, where he was Practice Leader for the Executive Protection Group in Boston from 2000 to 2005.

Dave held a variety of management liability underwriting roles at Executive Risk Management Associates, both in Simsbury, CT and London, UK, from 1994 up until ERMA’s merger with Chubb in 1999.

Prior to his insurance career, Dave served in several capacities at State Street Bank in Boston, MA for a five year period.

Dave earned a BBA in International Finance from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Jim Thomas

Jim Thomas is a co-founder of Euclid Financial. Prior to forming Euclid, Jim served in a senior underwriting role at Catlin, Inc. in Boston, MA for seven years. Jim was instrumental in developing and managing a book of business at Catlin which included Directors & Officers Liability, Errors & Omissions, Employment Practices Liability and Fiduciary Liability for financial institutions and commercial risks.

Prior to joining Catlin, Jim worked as a department manager and senior technical resource within the Executive Protection Group at Chubb & Son. Jim held a number of diverse roles over 13 years at Chubb, developing business for directors and officers liability, employment practices liability, fiduciary liability and crime insurance through regional brokerage networks. Jim also served as a referral resource for unique risks, including those with financial complexities, multinational exposures, significant claim or coverage matters, and other complicated underwriting issues. Jim was employed in the Seattle, WA and Boston, MA offices for Chubb.

Jim began his insurance career in 1993 at Executive Risk Management Associates in Simsbury, CT. While at ERMA, Jim served in an underwriting role focused on Directors & Officers Liability for publicly-traded commercial entities.

Jim holds a Masters in Business Administration from Seattle University, and a BSBA in Finance from Bucknell University.

Sean Brennan

Sean is an Underwriting Director for Euclid Financial.  Prior to joining Euclid Financial, Sean was an Assistant Vice President with Validus Specialty in New York, where he was responsible for underwriting financial institutions business on a national basis.  Before joining Validus in 2015, Sean served as a Senior Underwriter with The Catlin Group for five years, focused on similar management liability lines of business.

Preceding his Catlin experience, Sean was a Broker with Sharebridge Private Equity Consolidated (now Vanbridge, LLC), and began his career as an Associate with the law firm of Hoagland, Longo, Moran, Dunst & Doukas, LLP.

Sean holds a Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law, and a BA in Political Science from Boston College.

Eric Levine

Eric is Claims Director for Euclid Financial.  Prior to joining Euclid Financial, Eric was in the role of Claims Counsel with Validus Specialty in New York, where he was responsible for the oversight of all claims in the Professional Liability lines of business, including Public and Private D&O, E&O, EPL, Cyber and Fidelity.

Before joining Validus in 2015, Eric served as Complex Claims Manager with The Catlin Group, where he managed a claims group which handled complex claims matters in the D&O and E&O universe.  Prior to his experience at Catlin, Eric served in Claims Counsel roles at insurers Argo Group U.S., ACE Westchester, and AIG.

Eric holds a Juris Doctor from New York Law School.
